Earlobe Surgery

The lowly earlobe is often ignored, but not forgotten by those who have tears or misshapen lobes. The most common problem is tears caused by overly large or heavy earrings. The nicest earrings are designed for pierced ears. Clip-on earrings are bulky, uncomfortable, and the constant pressure can cause atrophy or thinning of the tissues. But, if the earring hole is too large or tears, you can lose an expensive or commemorative piece of jewelry. The procedure to fix the problem is a relatively simple office procedure under local anesthesia. Although more complex, a similar procedure is used to correct earlobes that have been stretched with gauges. Thin earlobes can be enhanced with fat grafts and heavy large earlobes can be reduced in size. Downtime is minimal as is the postoperative discomfort. Dr. Borkowski has performed these procedures numerous times.
