Are you board certified?
Answer: Yes all the doctors at Personal Choice Surgical Center are board certified by their respective societies. Dr. Borkowski is certified by the ABPS, (American Board of Plastic Surgeons).
Where will my surgery be performed?
Answer: Your surgery will be performed at Personal Choice Surgical Center, LLC, a CT state certified ambulatory surgical center. In some cases due to certain medical conditions the surgery will be performed at Middlesex hospital.
Do you operate in a certified surgical center?
Answer: Yes Personal Choice Surgical Center is certified by the CT Department of public health, and meets all the same stringent requirements as all outpatient surgery centers in Connecticut.
Do you have admitting privileges to a hospital?
Answer: Yes if it is necessary patients will be admitted to Middlesex Hospital.
Where are you located?
Answer: The main office and surgical center are located at 85 Church Street, #500 in Middletown CT. The satellite office is located at 1353 Boston Post Road, Madison CT
What are your office hours?
Answer: The Middletown office is open Monday Friday 9 5 pm. Patient’s can see the doctor Monday 2:30 5 pm, Tuesday Friday 9 5 pm.
The Madison office is open for patient visits on Monday mornings 8:30 am 12:15 pm.
Are there age restrictions for cosmetic surgery?
Answer: Yes cosmetic surgery is performed on patient’s 18 years of age and older. Most of the procedures are done at Personal Choice Surgical Center. In some cases surgery will be performed on patients younger than 18 or patients with health risks. These patients will have their surgery performed at Middlesex hospital.
Are there procedures just for men?
Answer: Yes. The most common procedures for men are Gynecomastia (male breast reduction), Liposuction, Eyelid surgery, Facelift, Rhinoplasty, and non invasive injectables for wrinkles.
Are there risks associated with cosmetic surgery?
Answer: All surgical procedures have inherited risks. Before any surgery is performed all patients have a comprehensive consult with Dr. Borkowski. He will review any risks and complications that may arise from surgery.
What type of anesthesia will I have?
Answer: The most common form of anesthesia performed at Personal Choice Surgical Center, LLC is IV sedation/conscious sedation. This means you will be breathing for yourself and mostly unaware of your surroundings but arousable as needed. Some patients will have a combination of IV sedation and regional blocks.
What is my recovery time?
Answer: Recovery time varies from procedure to procedure, and can range anywhere from days to weeks. At the time of your initial consultation and again at your pre-operative visit a definitive amount of time for recovery will be reviewed.
Will there be scarring?
Answer: Scars are visible signs that remain after a wound has healed. They are unavoidable results of injury or surgery, and their development can be unpredictable.
What will my surgery cost?
Answer: The cost of cosmetic surgery varies from procedure to procedure. After your initial consultation a written quote will be sent to you. This will include all costs associated with your procedure including the surgeon’s fee, operating room fee, anesthesia fee, supply fees, and implant costs, nursing services, and post operative visits.
Do you offer payment plans/financing
Answer: Yes Personal Choice Surgical Center, LLC is registered with Care Credit, a medical financing firm. The process for applying is simple and can be completed via phone at 800-365-8295 or on line at carecredit.com.
