Facelift

(Rytidectomy)

Rhytidectomy restores a more youthful and rested appearance to the face. Often patients report that they look much older than they feel, and wish to achieve an improved balance between the two. The patient who can benefit from this surgery has increased wrinkles of the face, sagging of the facial soft tissue (cheeks and jowls), and looseness of the neck. Although these symptoms are the result of the normal aging process, often they are accelerated secondary to sun damage received when the patient was much younger. The facelift procedure restores the position of the soft tissue of the face, improves the skin tone and contour, without creating an operated-on look. To achieve a natural result, it is important that both the skin and underlying soft tissue be addressed. No one surgical technique is appropriate for every patient.
